We've stopped paying claims by cheque
From 31 May 2024, we transitioned away from distributing cheques as a way to pay claims. All payments are now made via direct credit transfer.
What does that mean?
Most members have a direct credit account nominated for their policy for claim payments. However, for those who currently receive claim payments via cheque or have not nominated any direct credit details, you will need to nominate a bank account for any future claim payments to avoid any delays.
It’s also important to always update us whenever your direct credit details change.
You can add or update direct credit details for your policy online or over the phone
There are three quick, easy and secure ways to provide us with your up-to-date account details. You will need your BSB and account number.
- Log into Online Member Services, click on Payments and scroll down to How my claim is paid
- Log into the Doctors’ Health Fund app, click on My cover > Payment details > Deposit account for benefit payments
- Call our team on 1800 226 126 to provide your details securely over the phone.
What if I don’t update my details?
We encourage you to provide your account details as soon as possible so you can receive your claim payments quickly. If we don’t have current details by the time your claim is due to be paid, your claim payments will be pending until your payment method has been updated. This does not impact benefit payments processed when swiping your membership card at a provider.
I pay my premium by cheque, does this change impact me?
This change does not impact members who currently pay their premium via cheque, this is still an accepted payment method.
