Being part of a mutual organisation, Avant, we have a strong focus of members over profit. Within the private health insurance industry, it’s important that we align ourselves with other like-minded health funds that put their members before profit, to ensure we are unified and have strength in numbers for greater influence when it matters.
This is why we’re a part of Members Health Fund Alliance (or Members Health for short).
Who is Members Health?
Members Health is the peak industry body for an alliance of 24 private health insurance funds that are not-for-profit or part of a member-owned group, regional or community based. Funds belonging to Members Health provide cover to more than 5.3 million Australians.
All health funds that are part of the alliance share common features and values such as a strong focus on maintaining high levels of customer service and offering value for money to members.
What’s the role of Members Health?
Members Health is a respected and credible voice for quality private health insurance and helps to promote the benefits of being a part of a health fund that carries the Members Health ‘tick’ - such as Doctors' Health Fund. The alliance also performs public and government relations on behalf its member of funds.
Specifically, Members Health works to raise awareness of issues important to policyholders in an ever-changing healthcare sector, and influence policy decisions with government and their agencies to ensure better outcomes for our healthcare system.
Members Health also provides an opportunity for like-minded funds to share ideas, expertise, and innovations, to build effective collaboration and relationships for the benefit of their policyholders.
