As life evolves and changes, the level of cover you have should match your requirements - be it medical, financial, physical or relational. For this purpose, it is important to periodically review your cover to check if it meets the unique needs that you or your family may have.

There are a couple of things that you should be aware of before you decide to change your cover:

  1. If you're upgrading to a higher level of cover, you will not receive the benefits that your new level of cover provides until you've served the required waiting periods. Upgrading will also mean that your premium will increase.
  2. If you're adding a partner to your cover, they'll need to serve waiting periods if they've never had cover before or if their previous level of cover is lower than what they're moving to. If your partner already has health insurance, we’ll organise the transfer across to Doctors’ Health Fund for you.

Should you choose to change your health cover, we have a  comprehensive range of Hospital and Extras health insurance available. If you're not sure what you need, call our expert Member Service Team on 1800 226 126 and we’ll help you understand your health cover options and any waiting periods.
